Starting Progesterone

On May 1st, I stopped my Lupron and started my Progesterone shots. These are the ones that have to be given intramuscularly around the upper, outer gluteal region. One of my nurse coworkers did my first shot while my other coworker watched so that she could know how to do it too. First shot went fine. Had a little bit of soreness and bruising afterward but not as bad as I thought it’d be. The next day my other coworker too her turn on the other side and she did great too.

Today my husband his first turn at giving me my shot. He’ll be doing it on the weekends or my days off work when my coworkers can’t do it. I had him watch the video online and instructed him a bit beforehand. He was a little nervous but he did it just fine. He’s glad he doesn’t have to do it every day. lol

On My 2nd, I started the pills Doxycycline and Medrol. Doxycycline is an antibiotic that is supposed to keep away infection from the transfer. Medrol is supposed to help keep your body from rejecting the embryo. I have to take these twice a day. Oh my gosh, the Medrol leaves such a nasty taste in my mouth!! I always have to eat and drink stuff afterward to try and get the taste away.

We are just a few days away from transfer now. Our contract is finishing up with the lawyers. We only changed a few things from the original contract because we had talked about most things beforehand. It should be finished up by Monday. My husband and I also got a few things signed and notarized today for me to take to the clinic on Tuesday that hadn’t been signed yet.

Please pray that for Tuesday the transfer goes perfectly and that baby sticks!!
